environment agency campaign

2019

This project brief was set by The Environment Agency with the instruction to develop a strong campaign to appeal to the public, regardless of age, gender and knowledge of flooding prevention. I needed to inform and persuade the public of alternatives to dredging rivers, to help prevent flooding.

My campaign, which featured the River Don in Sheffield, centred around a family friendly afforestation (tree planting) river event, that informed the public of the benefits of afforestation. I felt it was crucial to promote the benefits of other flooding prevention methods rather than informing the public of the negatives of dredging rivers. I promoted the message by designing a poster and animation for the public to view, which would encourage them to attend the event and see the benefits of afforestation over dredging, which fulfilled the brief set.
